The official position of both the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) is that no safe level of alcohol has been established. Alcohol has been associated with fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), in which the baby develops mental retardation, growth deficiency, and behavioral disturbances. Because of the uncertainty, it's always wise to be cautious and not drink any alcohol at all during pregnancy.

By making the positive choice not to drink any alcohol while you’re pregnant or trying for a baby, you can feel confident that you’re helping to keep your baby safe and healthy.

Do not drink alcohol as it may harm the health and growth of the baby, possibly long-term. Please be a responsible parent to your kids.
